I note that parametric equations can now be entered with a nicer user interface.

But can they also be entered in the old V 3.0 way; i.e. via a list of variables ( the Mobius example) and then "Plot3d" ? Open a demo, say Mobius. Pinch expand it. Shrink it a lot, almost to oblivion. Now open another demo. Do the same thing. Now open Scroll Bars. Interestingly, you don't get the 3D, but a 3D plot. Double tapping on the plot sometimes gives you the 3D, sometimes not. Now open Trefoil, and you get just the equation. Sometimes, you don't get the graph, you get the equation. Sometimes, the app crashes booting you out.

If I get "just the equation" and no graph, sometimes I try to open another demo, and just get another equation, and can't work with it.

For example: Angle ([1,0,0], [1,1,0]) will return: acos(1/sqrt(2)). If this is forced to evaluate numerically, it returns 0.7854 when the setting is radians. Changing the setting to degrees and re-evaluating will cause the result to be shown as 45. This is what I expected.

Now try: Angle ([1,0,0], [0,1,1]). The result is always pi/2, no matter the setting.

I think this glitch is buried in the acos fcn. acos seems to behave itself well enough if you give it a non-zero, non unary argument. acos(0.7) produces radians when set to radians and degrees when set to degrees. - Whenever you call a routine, like Laplace(), you should see a list of arguments for this function a-la MATLAB (Like Laplace(function,t) where function and t would be gray, for example, and disappear when you start typing something there)
- Instead of an online function reference manual there should be a description for each function when you click on it in the function catalog. I'm not familiar with all of the functions and sometimes the input arguments aren't all that clear, so some more description would be really helpful.
- Landscape mode for the buttons. Even with the button size "+2" they are quite small (and I have pretty small hands!). In 3.0 you could type in the function to evaluate using Ipod's keyboard but I'd really like this to be extended all of the buttons of the spacetime.

But on to bugs. Some items under Menu in 4.0 do not work quite right:

1) "Evaluate All" does not seem to behave expected. I would expect it to run through all the entries and re-evaluate them. As best I can tell, it does nothing.

2) "Delete Entry" does some fascinating things. (looks like a loop counter/pointer is whacked). Start with "new", then do 1 solve, 2 solve, 3 solve, 4 solve. You now have 5 entries 4 with results one blank. But suppose we want to delete #3. So tap the 3rd, Menu->Delete Entry, and see what happens. I deleted #5 actually. Now for some more fun. Go to the infamous 3 and add some digits, say 321, hit solve ... no change. Go do to 4 and add some digits, hit solve. no change. Now go up to say 2, and add a digit and solve. It updates. Go to 3 and solve, #4 updates!

And now for some more fun, go back to #3, and delete entry. #4 goes away. Now seeing that there is no longer a blank entry and hitting solve on the last entry at this point does nothing, let's insert one. Menu -> insert entry. Presto! #4 reappears. As I said, looks like a loop/array inside the app is mashed somewhere.

3) Copy/Paste is a little wonky. If I use the plain Copy/Paste, all seems OK. But if I use Copy Entry/Paste Entry, strange things happen.

Where is the Fractals functionality?

I typed in the formulae z^2+c, pressed Entry but the Fractal button isn't there?

On the trial version for Windows PC I can easily find it.

Am I missing something or is the iPod Touch version of SpaceTime mathematics inferior to what been advertised for other platforms?

Great job on the iPhone port, it is so nice to see you have kept the windows mobile format of the app. It is east to get around and makes perfect use of iPhone's superior UI.

I am currently taking a statistics class and I noticed that inversenormal only accepts a z value as input, as opposed to (area,mean,standard deviation) that the TI-83Plus accepts. I was wondering if there is a way to quickly get this to work or should I just borrow a TI-83+?

At present, you can tap and move your finger to position the insertion point. My suggestion would be to continue to use one finger to position the insertion point, and two to select a block of text. By tapping two fingers together could place the insertion point, then as you slide the fingers apart horizontally, the insertion point grows into a selection. If you only move the left finger, the selection grows to the left, etc.

only a staight horizontal line is shown. It should be a cos(x-t), a wave function.

I seems that it calculate the real part of (i(x-t)) first and then calculate the exponential function. The results is e^0=1.

Have someone seen this problem, or do I have done something wrong?
